A stretch of Broadway in downtown Nashville taken by the vivoVerse team
The vivoVerse team recently attended the 2023 Society of Toxicology (SOT) Annual Meeting. It was a great time networking with people in the toxicology and safety testing industry. At ToxExpo, we were happily busy at our booth (Figure 2) spreading the word about our toxicology screening services using the alternative animal model C. elegans as a new approach methodology (NAM). The assays we offer for chemical safety testing have strong relevance to many industries represented at the SOT Annual Meeting, spanning from petrochemical to pharmaceuticals.

One of the most exciting parts of attending the SOT Annual Meeting is the opportunity to meet with collaborators, colleagues, and friends in person. The vivoVerse team met with Dr. Michael (“Miki”) Aschner (Figure 3), a vivoVerse collaborator and the 2022-2023 SOT President. Congrats to Miki and the SOT organizers for putting on such a great conference!

Sudip Mondal, Director of Science at vivoVerse, presented a poster titled “Developmental and Reproductive Toxicity (DART) Effects of Triphenyl Phosphate in C. elegans Measured using a Microfluidic-Based Imaging Platform” (Poster P142, Abstract #3658) during the Tuesday poster session. There were plenty of interested visitors to the poster to keep him occupied during the poster session.
